For an exotic evening of all things Arabian, this restaurant brings your imagination to life. With gilded ceilings, entertaining belly dancing and outdoor seating available, it's one of Beijing's most unique dining experiences. Specialties include lamb and chicken kebabs and spicy pita bread. The restaurant boasts many Middle Eastern expats as regular customers.
There have been several comments regarding the original 1001 Nights about mediocre food and OK service. For all those thinking that maybe they changed that with a new second location, the Solana shopping center version of 1001 Nights in Chaoyang Park offers more of the same. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
1001 Nights offers some of the best hookah smoking in the city. The Mohamara is hands down the best-tasting pita bread dip in the building. And you can't go wrong with kebabs. The belly dancing is a great attention grabber, but after the fourth or fifth dance, you might be bothered by hearing loud music break up your conversations more than anything else. Service is service in this city, and more often than not you read customers are dissatisfied with their servers. Try to order everything in one go-around. It eases the frustration of having to constantly call back the server.
