A hidden gem, this is my favorite bar in Wudaokou. Billing themselves as a "Belgian Beer Bar," they make very decent thin-crust pizza in a wood-fired brick oven, and have a beer and food menu very similar to that of The Tree. But after opening in August, this bar has become well-know in certain local circles as the BAR WITH FREE BEER. That's right, free draft Tsingtao, no catches, no cover, no need to order food. What used to be an all-night offer now ends at 6pm - sadly, after 6, a pint is 5 kuai, with a permanent 2-for-1 deal.
Aside from free or nearly free beer, the music that the lounging crowd of underworked servers selects is amazing. It's wide-ranging, but every time I go in I get startled out of my cups by a personal favorite - ratatat, RJD2, and depeche mode are a few that stick in mind.
Stunningly, this place hasn't caught on in a big way yet, and servers frequently outnumber guests. It's a bit out of the way, requiring either a taxi or bike from Wudaokou station, but easily worth the trip.
