Described by one food critic as "the mother of all seafood buffets," this wonderful seafood haven is all that and more. Featuring over 40 kinds of sushi, imported seafood and hot entrees from all over Asia, as well as fantastic desserts and great service, this buffet is on par with some of the city's most celebrated hotel buffets.

Very good! Definitely would go back (in fact I went there twice in July). It's the cheapest during lunch on weekdays (188) weekends is 198, but dinner on weekends is about 258 I think, not as worth it.
Fresh sashimi, good choice of sushi, very good korean stone-pot rice. Plenty of dessert items to choose from too! HOWEVER, the cakes could definitely be better. The "cheesecakes" are all jelly-like in texture. The creme brulee IS TO DIE FOR. TO DIE FORRR!!! Amazing how they serve crepes too :)
service is pretty good too! Clean, decor is sufficient.

You wanna push the heavy metal concentration in your body to the next level? You enjoy trembling hands and tics from all the mercury, damaging your nervous system?
Then Todai is the right place to go. They offer a huge selection of delicious seafood prepared in a vast variety of styles. Of course some of the dishes are hits and misses but the overall quality is very good. The Sashimi is extraordinarily fresh, thanks too the high turn over. The Sushi rolls are small and delicious. The to order Tepannyaki dishes are a little disappointing. Even though their main focus lies on seafood, they offer a good selection of other dishes, meats, salads, pizza... The desert buffet is extensive, cakes, ice cream, fruit, pudding... and the obligatory chocolate fountain. Haven't had any cake, so cant confirm whether they are jelly-like or not. The Crêpe is decent with a nice variety of toppings to choose from. The Crème brûlée was very delicious but imo prepared with little helpers which don't belong in there. They offer a range of fresh veggie/fruit juices, Bud from the tap and decent wine.
It takes a bit to get used to the labyrinth layout of the restaurant and to get an overview of the things offered. Maybe it is supposed to be part of the dining experience? The staff is friendly and very helpful.
As i am told the selection of food is even better for dinner, but not sure if it is worth it. As a Saturday all you can eat lunch buffet once in a while (especially with 20% off) it is recommendable.
Make sure to check out their website for discounts and promotions.

Been there 3 times since it first opened, all for dinner. Although a bit pricey, it's worth it once in a while. The food as everyone else has pointed out is excellent. It is not just the seafood - they have a huge variety of food types from all over the world and most of them are done pretty well. Drinks include the usual soft drinks/beer but also fresh juice and wine.
One thing I do like about it is that their selection of dishes seems to rotate frequently. Some things like their crab legs and basic sashimi are constant, but other dishes vary quite a bit. Some days I can find great western style roast beef, other days the western area is focused more on lamb and the korean area is offering beef ribs, etc.
Oh yes, the dessert section is very extensive. I could stuff myself on just desserts alone.
The place has always been crowded each time I've been there, so if you're a large group, I recommend booking in advance.

Not sure how I could have red all the reviews on this restaurant and still be suprised and slightly disappointed when I got there. Yes it is the mother of all seafood buffets. Yes there is a huge selection, it is all very fresh and good quality and if you don't fancy seafood there are also pizza and various meat and vegetable alternatives. Yes the service is good and most waiters speak English too. What this place lacks though is atmosphere. The idea of going to a restaurant in a Disney style mall is already a bit new to my European mind, but this huge hotel style buffet restaurant is just what you start to fear when you arrive at Solana. No wonder that it is hugely popular and has many outlets - all over the United States and Asia. So beware, if you are looking for a nice, intimate night out sampling beautiful seafood in a cosy atmosphere - this may not be what you are looking for.

Todai, described by one LA food critic as "the mother of all seafood buffets," is all that and more. The restaurant, which started over twenty years ago in the U.S. and moved to Asia in 2002, offers forty kinds of sushi and a 160-foot seafood counter—and that's just for starters. We began by loading up on Todai's huge crab legs, imported from Canada and easily consumed thanks to the claw crackers provided, and whole snow crabs. The Indian section of the buffet could have been more extensive, but we enjoyed several kinds of naan, as well as some excellent spicy chicken wings. Other hot entrees include dishes from China, the west and other parts of Asia, with a particularly notable Shrimp Malaikali. While an all-you-can-eat buffet's not usually the place to watch your figure, Todai does make an attempt to provide healthy food, with a very nice salad bar and a fantastic selection of fresh juices. The dessert bar is also not to be missed, especially for its delicious crepes, filled with whipped cream, fruits and other sauces. A comfortable ambiance and very friendly and attentive service enhanced the feast, and we loved how the waitresses offered us hand wipes between messy seafood courses. For RMB198 at lunch and RMB258 at dinner, Todai's not budget dining, but with a buffet up to par with some of the city's most celebrated hotel brunches, as well as imported seafood and great service, it's certainly worth a visit. Just make sure to bring a big appetite.
