All dishes are MSG-free at this fairly chic looking fast food restaurant, serving up an eclectic variety of Southeast Asian dishes to a bustling lunch crowd. The portions may be more appropriate for a tasty snack, but diners can round out their meal by upgrading to a set, complete with rice and soup.
Chef Chan is an upscale fast food restaurant with a comfortable, sleek and modern setting serving authentic Singaporean delicacies such as Singapore chicken rice, Singapore fish balls and desserts like sago pudding and buboh cha cha. Located at the You-Town Lifestyle Centre, this restaurant offers a combination of famous Singaporean cuisine as well as local delights from different parts of China. A cosy venue for a quick lunch as well as a leisurely chat with friends over a satisfying meal, this restaurant is a new fast food outlet where convenience and quality are priced above all.
Fast Food With Class
Opened in the spring, this Singaporean-owned eatery offers an eclectic variety of Southeast Asian specialties. Located in the You-Town Mall, the crowd bustles in during lunchtime for a quick bite with efficient and friendly service. The upscale fast food joint designed with modern décor makes for a comfy retro canteen. All dishes are MSG-free, for healthy eating without losing authenticity. Give taste buds a kick with hot and spicy fish soup (¥32). This traditional Sichuan dish is lacking the heavy oil, making it suitable for a lighter palette, yet it remains invigorating in taste. The crispy meat roll (¥18), a Fujian specialty, includes pork wrapped in a coated crispy exterior of bean curd, best savored dipped in sweet chili sauce. We also relished the deep-fried and meaty Singaporean fish ball and the chicken pomegranate (¥12 each). While Chef Chan’s specialty is delectable and small-portioned treats, those in need of a filling meal should opt for the set. Adding just ¥3 to any dish gets you a bowl of white rice and soup.
