This cafe serves up an extensive range of tapas and a selection of hot dishes from pasta to steaks in a cozy setting. Though the menu isn't entirely Spanish, prices are reasonable and the spicy tuna with aubergine comes highly recommended.
Ola-la
Located within The Village at Sanlitun, Olas Tapas Café serves an eye-popping array of Spanish tapas and some not-so-Spanish pasta in a cozy setting. The menu also comes at prices your average Zhou can afford. First up was the spicy tuna with aubergine (¥54), a healthy combination with a gratifying kick, followed by the pork with mushroom (¥54), which was delicious though a little dry. Next, was the grilled beef tenderloin (¥69) which was so tender and flavorful, that we were willing to ignore the soggy bread that came with it. Rounding out our meal was the penne pasta with aglio-olio sauce (¥55). Though a tad undercooked, the combination of garlic, herbs, olives and capers was delectable and before long, we had all but licked the plate clean. We agreed it was a fulfilling meal and believe that with a little more time, Olas will get it all right.
