When they say pink they mean it: This mega restaurant, serving all the Thai food standards, looks as though it shares a decorator with Barbie's Magic Castle. Pink Loft has been around for a while, and is beginning to look it, but the favorite dishes like green thai curry and pineapple rice bring in a regular crowd. The yogurt chicken curry is definitely also worth the try.

Horrible service= slow service, staff with no initiative.
Thai food not authentic aat all! The tom yam is so diluted...taste similar to the instant noddles packet seasoning.
Never will go again!
yucks yucks.....!

Lovely decor, slow wait staff, decent but REALLY expensive food.
If you feel like splurging, check out the Yogurt Chicken Curry which isn't unbearably spicy and really quite tasty. But for 58 RMB, the least it can do is be that good.

I agree, better service is desired, the staff are all standing around with absolutely no intiative, but the ambience and yogurt chicken curry was worth it's price. Also noteworthy were the fish and prawn cakes and spicy papaya salad.

The Pink Loft has moved to new location about 4 months ago. The 2 currys we tried and the dessert was very nice. Real thai staff, good service.

Just prior to the Olympics I dined at the previous location. The antiquated feel of the place has been somewhat lost in the new location. However, it still has a great feel. For a western set guy of 5’11” the seating is just on the wrong side of comfortable. Still it did allow for some lounging. The service started well and deteriorated towards the end of the evening. I’m reasonably easily pleased if the beverage service matches the food service. The menu has been a little over engineered trying to cater for too many tastes, which almost negates choosing this place as a Thai Restaurant, with many Asian dishes and the inclusion of Club sandwich and other Western favourites.
Our entrees were served faster than you could blink an eye. We asked to have the service slowed down after they rocketed out. The Thai beef salad, an old favourite did live up to our expectations, although Vietnamese style spring rolls missed the mark a little. Mains were tasty, one Thai red curry and one Chinese style sautéed Chicken.
We’ll definitely go back with friends at some stage, but we’ll need to experiment with other Thai Restaurants in Beijing before we do so. I would recommend that you give The Pink Loft a try if you’re looking for a selection of Asian cuisines. We struggled to find a great variety of Thai dishes and thus as mentioned above ended up with an eclectic array of dishes keeping away from the Western choices.

This place seems to carry itself on being an old favorite and I can see why. It's big and stylish and in a pretty good location. But it seems a little tired. The stairs are worn out, the service was sluggish (when eating spicy food one should not have to wait this long for drink and even worse, ask them to refill your water every time, especially when it's not busy) and the food math doesn't make sense: relatively bland food only works with the taste enhancing effects of subtle decor... I hope they can step it up a notch.
