A two-story locale serving up authentic Yunnan cuisine, this cozy eatery offers great food and drink. Warm up with a carafe of heated mijiu or crack open a bottle of Dali beer before chowing down on the spicy, garlicky fresh mint salad or the fried vegetable bean curd with shrimp sauce.
When the biting winds and grey skies get you down, head south to Yunnan—or at least to Feng Huang Zhu—for some choice southern Chinese cuisine. To ward off the winter chill, start your meal in this cozy, two-story restaurant with a small carafe of heated mijiu (¥50), a sweet, white, rice-based alcohol. The fresh mint salad (¥16) is a spicy, garlicky jolt to the tastebuds, which the jasmine blossom eggs (¥20) smooth out nicely. We also recommend cracking open a bottle of Dali beer (¥15) to accompany the fried vegetable bean curd with shrimp sauce (¥18)—a warm, yummy mash of tofu and vegetables.
