This state-of-the-art CBD cinema is a one-stop activity center for you and your kids. Catch the latest Hollywood blockbusters on one of its gargantuan screens, grab a drink in the adjacent café-bar, then head to the huge arcade for an after-show game-a-thon.

Despite that they seem a bit crappily run, the movie halls are very nice, especially Hall 8, Wanda 1000. Their VIP options are also quite interesting, with electrically reclinable chairs etc.
With "crappily run" I mean that:
It seems they stole the whole concept/design form Warner Brothers, whom they were originally advertising as partners. Even their logo and the "Hollywood" picture in the halls seem to be just adjustments of original WB designs.
They run some co-promotion campaigns with China Mobile (?) that seems to be very successful, but resulted in huge queues. It honestly doesn't seem safe.
I've been approached by people that claim to have "nei4bu4" (inside) tickets for half price. That to me smells of corruption.
DESPITE all of this, it's the best theatre that I know of in town.

After lots of "copying" as mentioned above, I still don't find the entrance any impressive.
The counter is tiny and can understand why you'll get a line which can last forever.
The arcade will be the perfect place to spend time while waiting for your movie, just watch the time.
But the screen is impressive, so is the surround sound system, just gives you a BANG.

Just went to see Ironman. Great movie, but the colors were not aligned, and the focus was off near the top of the screen. We notified the staff but they failed to fix it (or notice it from the side/back). Made for a quite nauseating experience.

Wanda is a weird one. They do have the best apparatus in town, the number 8 theater is great, but there was hammering audible from within the building. Some kind of work was taking place on a Saturday afternoon, prime movie watching time. Despite the fact they just can't seem to get it 100% together, the places was very crowded with Chinese and foreigners.

Construction is still going on underneath (after a year!) but the venue was clean. One mention to our Hanzi-reading friends - the subtitles were half off the screen for the last movie I saw, only to be repositioned at the last moment! Maybe it was a bit of forced 应文学? Popcorn, as usual, was sweet, but so sweet I felt like I might need a detour to the dentist on my way home!

Hm, these problems are I've heard frequently:
- banging and renovation noises while you're watching movies
- the movie is out of focus (try sitting on row 4 in theatre 8)
- only sweet popcorn (no salty option)

I was trying to get tickets to see Transformers but it's been practically impossible since;
It felt like a Beijing train station just before Spring Festival!
Will try again tomorrow morning to buy tickets for the day after tomorrow. Seems like you can only buy tickets one day in advance.
