Nanluo Guxiang's cozy café-bar 12SQM may be the smallest pub in Beijing, but that isn't to say it's lacking any amenity (other than space) you would find elsewhere. The bar has a range of vodkas, beers and other fine ales. It even has its own house cocktail, Beijing Sky.

Description

At just 12 square meters in size, Beijing's smallest bar-café is aptly named "12sqm". It does however, pack more into that small space than just about any other bar in Beijing! We have one handmade wooden table with a comfy sofa area wrapped around it, plenty of bar stools and a nice window seat to watch the world go by down Nanluogu Xiang. We stock plenty of hard to find spirits, including single malt Irish and Scotch whiskeys and imported flavoured vodkas. We are trying to develop the best backbar in Beijing! We make our coffee using freshly ground Lavazza beans, an Italian LaPavoni espresso machine, and real fresh milk. We have local and imported beers at very reasonable prices, including Harbin, Tsingtao, Coopers Red & Green, Hoegaarden and Bavarian Weissbier. We serve Australian style meat pies as a hearty bar snack and inside the bar is a no-smoking environment. We are adding to our Australian wine list and we keep the place nice and cozy in the cold winter months. You won't find noisy dice games, a dirty floor or fake spirits at our little home away from home. Just good service, reasonable prices and a relaxed environment. Come and enjoy!

Nanluo Guxiang's cozy café-bar 12SQM may very well be the smallest watering hole in Beijing, but that isn't to say it's lackin any amenity–other than space–you would find elsewhere. They say that good things come in small packages. Well, Beijing's Smallest Bar has a BIG personality. A choice selection of beers, exotic spirits that you won't find in any other Beijing bar (and they're not fake!), and the best darn coffee in town. Add to that the warm and homely atmosphere and the charming banter of the proprietors, and you can see this one is a keeper. Just don't bring TOO many friends at once!

This is my new found favourite bar in Beijing. It feels just like you are stepping into a bar in Melbourne... relaxed, comfortable, good music and the best alcohol selection anywhere I have seen. Coopers ale, wi-fi and a cosy atomsphere, plus being so close to the Hutongs and watching life role buy! I hear meat pies are coming soon??!!

Thanks to all who've written great comments about our bar, we strive to provide something that is rare in Beijing - good service, resonable prices and a comfortable place to drink and relax. We now have a very large range of flavoured vodkas, single malt whiskeys and imported beers. Coopers Red & Green now available, along with hot Australian style meat pies. We have wifi and it's a non-smoking bar, also very warm in the winter. Come and enjoy! Joseph - 12sqm.

Nice cozy atmosphere and beverage choices. Reasonable prices. Despite its size, it offers seats at the bar, a small lounge area, and via window seating. Non-smoking. Finally, as you might expect, the place is too small to house a toilet, thus patrons need to use the public facilities, although the co-owner told me there is an attendant there to keep things tidy.

Looking for someplace else my client and I came across the 12SqM. We stopped in for directions and a cold beer. We ended up staying a couple hours. It was great! It's so small you end up talking to everyone who comes in. I don't think it was just the alcohol, I think they were all genuinely interesting and funny. We ate pizza, sat in the window, watched the passersby and learned about the expat life in Beijing. Great fun. Loved the hosts/owners.
