Nice place with comfy seating. Service was reasonable but we were won over by the fabulous bruschetta and sandwiches. We were also impressed by the decent, well priced selection of wines by the generously filled glass.
Overall, a pleasant place to hangout and people watch in Sanlitun.

The physical decor was nice enough, but the staff was snobby and rude. A male waiter insisted on standing near my table and whistling loudly so me and the chinese woman i was with could not hear each other talk. Perhaps this is the clinging sense of old Beijing, which i saw referred to in other reviews.

One of my favorite bars / diners in center of Beijing. They have authentic limoncello and Disarano liquor (must try) from Italy so you don't have to worry about the fake alcohol. The panino is very good too, they use the salami and cheese from Agrilandia (an Italian farm in Shun Yi).
For a casual meal or a quick drink, this is one of the better places to go in Beijing.

This is only of the only places in Sanlitun that's nice for quiet evening out with friends. The bruschetta is fantastic, as is the spinach gnocchi. I've always found the service quite good, and the bathrooms are very clean. Nice decoration and set up gives you a sense of privacy even when it's full.

Is it really that difficult to bring everyones food within 5 minutes of eachother? I have been there 3 times now and honestly there is always one person who has finished their meal before another one even gets theirs! Stupid. And its not even like the food is that worth waiting for! The pasta (except the lasangne) seems it is from a can and overpriced. YUK. Don't even get me started on the useless waitstaff.

the aperitivo cocktail was very nice and somehow reminded us of italian spritz... the bruschetta was very good too and there is a cozy atmosphere, even though the waiters were a little cold

This place has a great location but for me is too close to the trash and streets of back Sanlitun to seem comfortable. Maybe it will all clear up after the mall is built. I also sense a leftover feeling of ol' Beijing superiority at Appertivo. It's been there forever. Clean up the outside, but leave the people watching. Keep the great menu and go for more classy in the assy part of Sanlitun. Then Appertivo would mean more to me.

The place where nothing's special but everything is just about perfect - a Mercedes at the heart of the bubbling Tongli scene. Great for grabbing a snack, dining with friends, coffee in the afternoon or Prosecco (by the glass!) late at night, for coming alone or with ten friends. Attentive staff which will give you moskito candles BEFORE you get bitten, and lovely details like the small towels in the bathroom, the nice DVD saleswoman (still haven't figured out who she actually works for) and our all time favourits grass animals vendor. A place to spend 8 hours without even noticing!

I like the place for the type of crowd and their drink list. I also agree with the comments posted by "pixienic" -above.
