A cozy, little bar room inspired by some of our favorite drinking establishments in NYC, namely, The Pegu Club, Death & Co, Employees Only, and so many more ... boy do we miss them.

Apothecary - Cocktails & Dining serves contemporary Creole grub and vintage American cocktails. We try to make much of our own food and drink ingredients from scratch and in-house whenever possible. Complimented by warm, attentive service and a glowing, wood-lined barroom, we offer a NYC via New Orleans experience in the heart of the capital's nightlife district, Sanlitun.

Apothecary - Cocktails & Dining takes dinner reservations for parties arriving before 9pm. After 9pm, food & drink service are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Calling before you arrive is highly suggested, especially on weekends.

We adhere to a strict Door Policy that limits entry after the bar is at capacity, which is around 65 people. We apologize in advance for not being able to guarantee accommodations for newcomers joining already arrived parties. Our Door Policy helps us focus our attention on serving you and ensuring that you are happy with your visit, food, and drinks.

Our kitchen is open for grub until 1am.

Medicine Men

Launched by esteemed Beijing barman Leon Lee, Chef Max E. Levy from Bei and the two whisky wizards behind the Er whisky bar, Apothecary is the equivalent of a Beijing mixologists supergroup. The new Nali Patio tavern shows off the barmen’s expertise in drinks, service and design. The whisky cocktails, particularly the old fashioned (¥55), are sublime. Apothecary is the only Beijing bar we know of where you can order a cocktail with one of five types of bitters, a few of which are made in house. This whisky wonderland’s biggest draw, however, may prove to be its ambience. While there are a number of venues in Beijing that serve stellar cocktails, few are as comfortable and unassuming as Apothecary. With gently polished blonde woods and soft lighting, Apothecary is sophisticated enough to appeal to a discriminating clientele, but its service and sense of community make everyone feel at home. For those looking for an unpretentious destination with consummate cocktails, Apothecary is just what the doctor ordered.
