The Beijing London Pub has three sprawling floors, two bars, one dining area, three VIP rooms, full kitchen (the menu doubtfully offers everything from pub fare to escargots) and all the athletic paraphernalia and televised sports you can shake a stick at. The drink menu is extensive and reasonably priced with an excellent menu of international beers starting at RMB30.

Beijing London Pub has all the concepts in place to make for a decent sports bar: three sprawling floors, two bars, one dining area, three VIP rooms, full kitchen (the menu doubtfully offers everything from pub fare to escargots) and all the athletic paraphernalia and televised sports you can shake a stick at. The décor is awkward, but the drink menu is extensive and reasonably priced, and beer aplenty with Boddingtons, Carlsberg, Newcastle and bottles of Guiness and Strongbow Cider are available from RMB30.

london bar? drinking?

Owned by a Hong Kong businessman and sports fanatic, the Beijing-London Pub has all the concepts in place to make for decent drinking but still somehow manages to fall short in the end. Despite three sprawling floors, two bars, one dining area, three VIP rooms, full kitchen–the menu offers everything from pub fare to escargots–and all the athletic paraphernalia and televised sports you can shake a stick at, the entire establishment still gives off the stink of a ship about to sink. Maybe it’s the over-attentive staff or the lack of hustle and bustle, or even just the shiny, uncomfortable bar stools and generally tacky furniture. On the bright side, the drink menu is extensive and reasonably priced, and there is beer aplenty with Boddingtons, Carlsberg, Newcastle and bottles of Guiness and Strongbow Cider available from ¥30.
