With its inconspicuous exterior and industrial chic interior, this chill Sanlitun lounge caters to Beijing's cultured elite. By day, d.lounge functions as a hip arts space, and by night it serves quality cocktails to discriminating revelers, who relax on velvety banquettes or groove to cutting-edge techno.
D Is for Decadence
You’ll spend some time looking for D Lounge, since the bar’s low-key exterior contrasts to the glowing entrances of the surrounding venues, but it’s worth it. Catering to a more discriminating crowd than its neighbors, the bar expects only the glamorous to enter and is frequently booked for private parties. With sky-high ceilings and exposed brick walls, D Lounge is the pinnacle of industrial chic—as well as echo chamber acoustics. The impressive preview menu, which will soon be expanded, already offers a wide variety of drinks, ¥50 for cocktails and ¥40 for mixed drinks. We tried the very strong lychee martini and the kiwi and strawberry caipiroska (¥60), prepared with fresh kiwis for a smooth fruity taste. Additionally, the D Lounge space will function as an arts space by day and also feature high-end designer street fashion. In the midst of Sanlitun’s darker dives, D Lounge is a sophisticated oasis of urban culture and divine drinks.
