Glen is an unparalleled drinking experience in Beijing. Modeled after Japan’s finest whisky bars, this Sanlitun South Street newcomer brings a level of class and detail absent from even the city’s most upmarket venues. Owner Wilfred Kwok brought star bartender Iida Tomonobu from Tokyo to helm this high-end whisky couture enterprise. Iida, a bartender with years of experience, shops daily for fresh ingredients and hand carves ice to best fit each cocktail and single malt. Glen’s stellar cocktails comes with a little twist, from the explosion of citrus in the Negroni (YY60) to the dash of sweetness-cutting soda Iida adds to his gin and tonic (YY60). With over 50 quality single malts, and more on the way, the whisky selection is unparalleled in Beijing. We recommend the Yoichi (YY60). A bar catering to customer’s individual tastes, Glen also sells and stores Baccarat crystal glasses for regulars. There is a RMB30 base charge for bar snacks, and reservations, though not necessary, are appreciated.
