This Japanese whiskey bar offers cocktails, decent mixed drinks and Italian food. Located near Temple, we expect this to be a stop before or after decent shows at the nearby live house. Full review and details coming soon.
Jam Packed
Decked out with nouveau art, back issues of LEAP magazine and a bartop made of wood from a 160-year-old tree, Jam is a hangout that attempts it all and succeeds. It’s slated to offer food soon, and the L-shaped bar around the open kitchen is the perfect atmosphere for relaxed dining. The cocktails range from ¥40-60 and are expertly mixed. Asahi on draft is a nice regional touch. Over 20 whiskeys (¥60-90) make it the perfect Gulou after-dinner destination. ■ Lauren Johnson
