    Juiced Up

Almost every Beijing expat has woken up a bit dizzy after a night at Propaganda. Now, the management of Wudaokou’s notorious club is bringing the cheap drinks and dancehall beats to the east side. Juicy Spot—aptly named after the owner’s high-school girlfriend—is a more upscale version of its predecessor. Housed in the former Pepper Bar near Suzie Wong’s, Juicy Spot includes a centuries-old, 20-meter fishing boat that has been converted into the bar itself. Here, clientele sip the icily invigorating “Mojito for Horses” (¥25) and 14 varieties of imported tequila. The Somonque Gold (¥25) did the trick for us. If, after a few shots, the samba and grinding dance moves get too intense, numbers can be exchanged on Juicy Spot’s rooftop terrace. Best of all, the jefe serves up free sangria every Thursday from 9pm on, with no cover charge. Dame la gasolina!
