This student stronghold was the first bar in Wudaokou catering to Western foreign students. An eatery by day serving up mouthwatering sandwiches, it becomes a hopping bar at night with special events scheduled throughout the week, including open mic nights, live music and movie nights.

This is a really nice bar with great western dishes and lovely drinks. The perfect place for language exchange and just having a chat with your classmates. For breakfast I would definitely recommend the Flipflop. two tasty American style pancakes with some French toast on the side.

Cheap drinks, great place to chat and relax, with open mic and movie nights. Just great place and must visit.

Lush is a neat place to hang about, and at sundays they host an open mic event, which trully packs the place. Be sure to come early on sundays!
The location of Lush is nice, and it is a place I can recommend and will likely frequent.

Lush has really priced themselves out of the Wudaokou drinking market with the recent increase to 20 kuai Tsingtaos. As a restaurant or café, though, it’s still a great destination. The stuffs (really just sandwiches) are great, and a better deal than burgers. If you go just for coffee and study, bring a little appetite, because an extra 5 kuai gets yogurt and granola (the “Urban Native”) on top of your coffee. I go for breakfast and lunch all the time, but the Y20 Tsingtaos and 20-deep crews of students are not my idea of great night-life.
