Good place to get a beer but that is about it.
sorry this place sucks. its a sham sports bar. walked in there today at exactly ten am which is when they open expecting to be able to watch the NBA playoffs. TVs were all off and the chairs hadnt even been taken off the tables. "you guys showing Basketball? NBA playoffs?" answer: "basketball? no." oh really? is that because its too hard to turn on the TV and dial into CCTV5??????? Whoever is running this place needs t get their act together quickly. Never going back.
Any of the items off the menu here can stumble right in to my mouth. This restaurant is my favorite in Sanlitun because of the eye catching handpainted walls, consistently excellent wait staff (who speak some damn good English by the way), and hot and fresh food that makes you feel right at home. The eggs benedict (50 RMB) is by far the best ever and left me fantasizing for weeks after, and the bangers and mash (80 RMB) are just what the doctor ordered on a cold winter's day. Also, if you're not too stuffed after, you can enjoy a couple rounds of foosball or pool. :)
Cheap beer for Happy hour. If I wasn't mistaken it was RMB15 for a qingdao. But service could have been better. We went upstairs, got a table on rooftop and waited for menu. Waiters seemed to be uninterested. There was only one other table occupied at the time.
@eddi
last time i checked monday ended at midnight. dumb ass!
Monday "all day" happy hour is bullshit. Notice it is "all day"... not "all night". After midnight happy hour is over. "Oh wait, it is not monday anymore it past midnight"... pfffff pathetic.
I`ve been back to the Stumble Inn on several occasions over the past two months, but last night was the first time I went to watch a match. Even though there were three matches aired at around the same time, management was still able to accommodate the packed house. Staff has definitely picked up their 'game' as well. Food and drinks, as usual, were very good. Had a great evening!! WELL DONE:-)
A great bar. The service was timely and friendly, the pub quiz was entertaining and drew a good crowd, and the happy hour specials made it worth getting there early on after work and staying late. They also had a nice selection of pub food -- the sandwiches were both tasty and affordable. I definitely recommend a visit!
For the ladies...if you find yourself here playing pool or trying to pass the time as you boy watches the sports, order the Limoncello Cocktail. it is delicious and sweet!
My wife and I popped in for lunch recently, after reading the good reviews in the local expat magazines and had a really good time. The cocktails were very well balanced and (including beers and house pours) are an awesome deal during Happy Hour!! We had the JD chicken wings, Jenga (ginormous) Fries, regular burger and 'Messy' burger for lunch, which were all delicious, although the wings were a bit small:-( We continued to indulge in the extensive variety of drinks on offer and soon realised that it was dinner time already. Needless to say, the Bangers & Mash and the bacon Linguini, were both excellent. Service was acceptable, although the day staff could use more customer service training and need to be a bit more attentive (not over-bearing though), similar to the evening staff. Just one word of advice to the owners/manager if I may, what distinguishes a really good venue from a GREAT one, is the personal touch/interest shown by the owner/manager present, which we experience when frequenting the more established venues in Sanlitun. We spent almost 6 hours in the Stumble Inn (ordering every 20 minutes), but were not once asked if the service/drinks/food were to our liking, are we ok, is there anything else we would like, or just a polite thank you when leaving, etc. I believe this is just common courtesy and good business practice. Will we be returning to the Stumble Inn....everyone deserves a second chance:-)
Decent drink deals-- and the drinks are strong and well-mixed, but the bar always smells like floor cleaner and the service is poor. Decent sports coverage and of course an amazing beer menu and good location.
Best fish and chips in town.
Cool bar. Spacious and sports screens , dart , huge variety of beer . The managers are attentive.
The soups and garlic bread are good.
Hi all,
We usually try to avoid responding to reviews, and leave this domain for customers to voice their views, but as a couple of you seem to feel the same way, we felt it should be addressed.
Very sorry if you feel hard done by at the Stumbles. We do our best to offer different discounts and deals every day, including all-day happy hour on Mondays, 20 rmb martinis on saturdays, free shots on fridays, and of course 2-for-1 cocktails on Wednesdays.
We enjoy giving out good quality drinks at a good price, an apologize for any confusion, but the idea of 2-for-1 drinks is that each customer gets a follow-up drink, as opposed to a "half price drinks" special. We'll be sure to add this into the small print next time ;)
Again, sorry for any confusion. Hope to see you back in the Stumbles soon.
Also wanted to say thanks to everyone for a great St. Patrick's week, and especially to Robbie and Black Water for a great couple of gigs!
Cheers!
Agreed with "tigerlily"...if the place is on "Ladies Night Promo" and only ladies get free drinks...then I think it will be right and fair that guys should not share the drinks...BUT if is a "2 for 1 promo" and customer is paying...soooo why bother who drinks it?
*An example: If one goes to a pizza place and there is a "2 for 1" promo...is it only the one who bought that pizza is allowed to finish/eat the two pizzas and he/she cannot share? Cannot understand the logic here....???
I will NEVER go back to the Stumble Inn. Agreed with hikki's review on the manager being a complete douchebag and he is backed up by a rude staff of girls who think they are sassy but really just have bad attitudes.
Tried to order drinks for the buy one get one free cocktail special on Wednesdays but apparently sharing drinks is not allowed, each person has to buy one drink in order to get a free drink. Personally, I think who drinks the drinks after we pay for them is not really their business but the real problem was in the way the situation was handled. In addition to being vague (purposely or due to incompetence) when we asked them to clarify the terms of the drink special, the 2 waitresses and manager we spoke to were all extremely rude leaving us with a bitter impression of the Stumble Inn. Had they been nice and explained things clearly to begin with, we probably would have stayed and had a few rounds but instead we all left and will not be returning.
The owner is a complete douchebag, he tried to card our entire group when we were all clearly over age because he didn't want to give us a free drink from one of his promotions. Then he threatened to physically harm us when we started to leave, because we weren't very happy with his attitude. In any case the bar didn't have too many people, the atmosphere had a lot to be desired, and the drinks were extremely overpriced.
There is something good about the place. I love the second floor view to the sanlitun street below.Warm inside a nice beer and all the things you need for a perfect sports bar. TVs, something to play, and snacks which are real tasty.
A hit with me always whenever I feel being in a quality sportsbar.
I absolutely LOVE The Stumble Inn No 2, but of course I absolutely loved Stumble Inn No 1.. It is a great bar, the staff are fantastic, warm & friendly very willing to help but at same time not too intrusive. The food was delicious, i would say the best burger in town by far, The Caesar Salad was mouth watering along with the "real crispy bacon" Mmmmm , we also had the Thai curry which was awesome !!, but best of all were the huge Jenga fries, a massive hit with our table.
The outside Deck area was nice & relaxing but we were up on the Upper Deck area which was really cool & even better because it had a covered in area so you stil enjoyed being outdoors,
We went back on the Friday night & the music was fantastic, the dj was playing some seriously wicked tunes & some great old skool classics too that really took us back in time & had us up boogying our socks off, this was also helped by the fact the alcohol was real & reasonably priced, Would highly recomend this bar & hats off to the guys "Glenn & Shane" for opening yet another friendy fun & funky bar !... Good job !!
Guess we shouldn't expect much when ordering food in a pub. The Sunday lunch was a steal with 2 courses at 80rmb, or so we thought. Our hopes of enjoying a homely Sunday roast here vanished when the food finally arrived after a 45min wait. The lamb was bone dry after extended irradiation under a heat lamp. The chicken was barely better and the less said about that tin can masquarading as a "Yorkshire pudding" the better. Service by our nervous server was erratic.
The only bright spot (literally) was enjoying the last bit of sunshine al fresco this Sunday before winter sets in next week. Maybe we should have stuck to drinks here after a better lunch elsewhere.
I heard this place compared to Blue Frog next door, but I think the atmosphere is very different, and much more Beijing. I would much rather come here, especially for casual weekday drinks with friends. I can't comment on drinks, really, because I just had whisky, but the bartender is the really cool girl who used to work at Cheers, and the mixed drinks there are always fine. Sure I will become somewhat of a regular here!
With a selection of 100 beers and one of the best burgers in town, the new Stumble is a winner. Do check the weekly drink deals, Stumble has a deal almost every night of the week. Grab a seat outside on the terrace while it's still warm out. The Jenga fries are a must.
nice pub in a great location. i liked the old stumbles but it was too far out to go to daily. the new one seems to have increased a lot of stuff, it has more cocktails, more beers, more food options, and best of all, more windows and outside seating. i can see this place getting popular very quickly

With one of the strongest pedigrees in the Beijing bar business, Stumble Inn opened to almost immediate success with its gorgeous two-story space in The Village. A huge step up from the original basement bar, the new Stumble boasts a menu of 100 beers, wrap-around windows, a terrace and a touch-screen jukebox. The kitchen is helmed by Lee Mitchell (formerly of Blue Frog), and the burgers (¥45) are first rate. Don’t miss out on the gargantuan Jenga fries (¥25). Whether drinking a rare Estrella Damm (¥45) or a Tsingtao (¥20), you’ll find Stumble to be a near-perfect sports bar.
