    City Weekend Says

The Olympic area is one of the fastest growing in Beijing, but still lacks decent nightlife options. This mid-sized nightclub cloned off the Gongti model tries to rectifiy that, but really fails to go beyond mere “neighborhood club.” Do grab a bottle of the People’s Congress Beer while you’re there though, it’s totally unique in Beijing.

    City Weekend Review

A year from now you’ll remember the name Vivo. You’ll be joyriding around the Olympic village playing phone tag with NBC staffers and IOC interns, wondering where to go for the tackiest, most local disco experience possible and it’ll come dislodged from the deep recesses of your booze-addled mind: VIVO! It’s a scaled down version of Angel Club on Gongti, decked out in neon and feather trim, and features the usual dakuan drink list (bottles start at ¥300). Standard cocktails with paper umbrellas (¥40) do little more than get you drunk, so instead opt for their totally unique signature beverage—the People’s Congress Beer (¥35)—then kick back to the KTV classics. You’ll be moved, and so will the interns. And the best part? Tables are minimum charge: ¥30. Welcome to club life far, far away from Gongti.
