The elegant multi-level rooftop terrace of The Emperor Hotel offers an unparalleled view of Forbidden City rooftops, Jingshan Hill and even Tiananmen Square in the distance. With patio tables, chaise lounges, a Jacuzzi and innovative huangjiu cocktails, Yin is the definition of cocktail party colonial chic.

Yin Bar is unique because of its proximity to the Forbidden City. The drinks are good. The menu is handwritten and the space is huge. Good for parties. And definitely worth the view!!

First thing what came to my mind when entering the lobby of the Emperor was, that i have seen the interior design somewhere before. In the country of copy and paste no big deal i thought, but then asked the receptionist, who assured me that it is a real GRAFT. Btw GRAFT is a hip young architecture company, if interested, you might wanna check out www.graftlab.com Lots of beautiful details in the Hotel, but don't look too close, cause the completion of assembly lacks how so often here in China of quality. Whatsoever, the rooftop has a picturesque view over the forbidden city, what really makes this place unique. A great place for a drink and watching the sunset. The multileveled and labyrinthine terrace, can make it tricky to find the service. A little pricey, but worth the view.

As you all know, Beijing is overload of bar, clubs and rooftop...but this, this is different! Yin Bar doesn`t want to be a crazy dancefloor crowded spot. This is the place where you take your friends to suprise them, to say.."Hey have ever seen something like this?" Cocktails are tremendous, the view speaks itself...right, surely the best rooftop bar in Beijing.

Fabulous view of the Forbidden City at night. Innovative mixed drinks made with huangjiu. Yin Bar is a quiet, fantastic place to hang out. Perhaps the best rooftop in the Jing.

Cocktail Party Colonial Chic
It’s no secret that Beijing has Bund envy. No venue in the capital could really compare with the stunning, iconic views from places like Three on the Bund. Until now, that is. The opening of the Yin Bar on top of The Emperor Hotel delivers cocktail party colonial chic that even Face can’t muster. The view—taking in the Forbidden City, the dagoba in Beihai Park, Jingshan Hill and even the lights of Tiananmen—isn’t hype, it’s for real. The terrace is multileveled, with sets of MC Escher stairs leading to little alcoves and spacious patios outfitted with tables and chaise lounges. And yes, there is a Jacuzzi up there for all the bikini babies. Both times we’ve been the service has been attentive, and prices are what you’d pay at a hotel bar in the West (YY47 Qingdaos, YY57 cocktails). With government leaders living in the area, you’re never going to get wild late-night bacchanalias, but with an imperial view of the heart of Beijing, Yin is a strong contender for bar of the summer.
