This impressive arts space boasts a colossal, high-capacity music hall with dark minimal decor, two theaters and a dance studio. Beers and cocktails are reasonably priced, and the sound system sublime. Mako may be a little off the beaten path, but it is a quality venue for great parties and live shows.

An amazing club and arts space. Mako is a little off the beaten track, but if Beijing bands and promoters are willing to take the chance, this could be one of the capital's top live music halls.

Oh, the address in the above is bad translation and makes it confusing. The best way to find it is to find carrefour, see the road west of it? Ok, cross the street south and go down a little ally, come to a sliding fence and turn left and go to end and look for their logo and name on the door. It's not so hard to find as it sounds and easy to get taxis at anytime at night in the area. Worth the search. There is a big red building in front of it that is a baby supply store, it's behind that.

Probably the best sound system in Beijing with over 3 million rmb spent on it. You can hear the place thumping from blocks away. also besides for the live music room, they have cinema/theater for 350 people and a crosstalk room. Had a decent dinner tonight as well. Sort of glorified coffeeshop food, but was all good and fresh. If you like live music, come and hear what is going on. Loved the Mongolian band that played for the opening.

Thirty seconds into Hanggai’s set last month at Mako, we were sold. This may be Beijing’s coolest, best sounding live music venue. Mako boasts a colossal, high-capacity music hall with dark minimal decor, two theaters and a dance studio. Beers start at ¥20 and cocktails at ¥35. Unfortunately, Mako’s events calendar is still spotty. Perhaps promoters are wary of the location in Shuangjing’s Hongdian Art Factory. On a night with the right band, however, Mako is worth the trek.
