Those willing to trek to the East Fourth Ring will be rewarded by The One. With art gallery, recording studio, club space and VIP mezzanine, The One is a far classier joint than your averge Beijing rock house. The focus isn’t only on the music either. Though we saw a riveting performance from Confucius Says, the lights never fully went out and the crisp sound system remained at a level we could talk over. With reasonably priced beers, mixed drinks and more expensive imported wines, The One may be the capital’s only club tailor made for the older, more discriminating rock fan.
