White Rabbit has been reincarnated in the CBD area as a lounge/bar that strays from their past attempts at nightclubs. A controversial spiral staircase, VIP seating, an open dance floor and unisex bathrooms are just some of the features that make this underground club memorable.
Classy Rabbit
The masterminds behind White Rabbit, easily Beijing’s most legendary underground club, have grown up with their latest venture. They’ve replaced the Tsingtaos and sofas with stunning drinks and a gorgeous minimalist bar. House gin is Bombay Sapphire (¥50 for a G&T), and beers start at ¥35 for a Kronenburg. Those who miss the Rabbit’s sense of danger need only look at the staircase—yes, it’s as steep as a fire pole—to get the adrenaline pumping. Fortunately, the music is still as great as the original, with DJ Donald Summer and crew spinning mind-melting house and nu-disco. ■ Blake Stone-Banks
