This megaclub chain takes Gongti glitz to new heights. With three floors of dark woods, chandeliers and steam punk-style gold machinery, Latte is worth visiting even if just to revel in its cheesy opulence. For clubbers who love gaudy live performances, Mandopop dance hits and green tea-Chivas bottle service, this is Gongti at its best.
Take Me to Wonka-Town
Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory was the first thing that came to our minds as we stepped through the metal detector into Gongti’s newest and perhaps most elaborately decorated club. Club Latté, part of a China-wide chain, is worth a visit if even just to gawk at the cheesy opulence of its interior. Dark woods and chandeliers are complimented by gold-painted cranks and faux antique machinery—steam punk meets Gongti glitz. Well before midnight, the club is already packed with people singing in tune with Mandopop mega-hits, performed by over-the-top live entertainers. Even the club’s uniformed staff dances along. The local crowd runs the gamut, from young girls swaying around to middle-aged men confidently seated at tables sipping Champagne. Cocktails are ¥45, and bottles begin around ¥800. If you are looking for a club to impress out-of-towners with a uniquely local experience, Latté is your destination.
