This dance club redefined the Beijing club experience when it opened in 2004, eschewing neon affectation for a roomier, multi-level, multi-room design. Several remodelings later, Tango is still a great place to party, but KTV encroachment has diminished the space in which to do it. Nonetheless, it's one of the few big clubs in town to regularly feature big DJ names hot on the global club circuit.

A-okay. Tango puts on far and away some of the wildest techno parties in Beijing. Can't wait for A Guy Called Gerald in April.

Another vote for Tango: these guys are bringing Loco Dice and Robert Hood in the space of a week. This is the best club in town, hands down right now. More power to the Tango crew.

Caught the Ken Ishii show last night and was reflecting on his show last year, same venue. Last year the dance floor was the size of a postage stamp but they've cleared off a bunch of the tables creating a decent sized dance floor which is really one of the best of the Beijing big clubs. There's never any wait for drinks and I've never had a problem with staff or anything. It's really a great mid-point between White Rabbit and Tang Hui in terms of market target and critical output. It's got a heathly vibe (unlike The Rabbit which can be decidedly un-healthy at times) but doesn't waste time with frills like Russian strippers and bottle flipping. Ishii threw a great set, but the people behind tango deserve credit for keeping the place abreast of the changing topology of nightlife, with music and dancing at the core.

Great Club!
