NLGX Design is a Beijing-based independent apparel brand and design community.

We create original-designed apparel inspired by the Beijing’s development into a multicultural melting pot of artists, entrepreneurs, travellers, and global-minded individuals. We also support the local design community through collaborations and promotions at our flagship store in Beijing’s historical neighborhood of Nanluoguxiang. Through design and through partnerships with local artists, NLGX represents the lifestyle and spirit of the “new” Beijing.

Our slogan is “Preserve...Create”, which highlights our goal of Preserving the Past while Creating New. NLGX creates original designs inspired by graphics, materials, and colors of traditional Beijing. goal of Preserving the Past while Creating New.

NLGX RECYCLED is a sub-brand of NLGX Design, dedicated to innovative product design made from recycled materials. Promote style and social responsibility together with NLGX RECYCLED, fashion re-used…re-created.

The name “环包” (huanbao), combines the character “环” (huan) as in “环境” (huanjing) or “environment” and the character “包” (bao) which means “bag”. Together, they form “环包” or “environment bag”, which in Chinese sounds similar to the term for “environmental protection”, “环保” (huanbao).
