Description

PLASTERED's exciting new range of T-shirts for men, women and children explores the diversity and latent beauty of everyday life in Beijing, and rejoices in the invention, humour and energy that make the Chinese capital such a unique and thrilling city. Every PLASTERED design incorporates potent graphics that are prevalent across the capital. The illegal street stickers for reselling old drugs, the "Anquan" logo featured on kids' yellow caps, the labels from bottles of baijiu and Yanjing beer … these are genuine reflections of the Middle Kingdom's creative hub. And PLASTERED argues that such images, though taken for granted, are as iconic as the Temple of Heaven or Tiananmen Gate. And they should be celebrated. Take a look around Beijing. Notice the advertising billboards featuring urban images of luxury sedans and washing machines superimposed over lush grasslands and pristine tropical beaches. PLASTERED's designers have turned this simple graphic juxtaposition on its head, to ironic effect. Now a bikini-clad model poses for the camera in front of the Great Wall. A surfer dude rides over text that declares this quality shirt a souvenir of "BEIJING" and not Bali. Complemented by funky typefaces that took the west be storm in the1970s, and screen-printed onto 100% cotton shirts in a rainbow of colours, the results are sometimes playful, sometimes in-your-face, but always surprising. Guaranteed to put a spring into every step through China's fascinating seat of power.

I have to say that I like these shirts. Older ones get a 5 but newer ones I think are not as retro. NLGX is cool.

Probably the coolest shop in Beijing, brilliant range of t shirts with beautiful graphics that really capture Beijing. They have a great poster selection too and other cool stuff. I take all my visiting mates there and they love it. A Beijing must do.

Art is very subjective to different person's taste and liking...just like wine appreciation. If u asked me, I am not impress with these range of t-shirt prints....and I do not think it is value for money if you are comparing the other t-shirts that are sold in China
