Be prepared for locals sleeping and just hanging out on all of the furniture.

Haha. Who goes to Ikea for furniture and apartment fixtures? You go for the Swedish meatballs and the jazz band that plays in the cafeteria on weekends. I'd never seen so many people interested in food from Ikea until I walked into the Wangjing store. Even better: 1YY soft-serve ice cream just behind the checkout counters. Delicious.

A treasure chest for sociologists. Watching and observing peoples behavior, can be so amusing and interesting. It is more enjoyable to go to IKEA here in Beijing than in Europe.
And you wont find such a big serving of good quality "Gravad Lax" for that little money here in Beijing (around 18rmb)

The food here is the shizzle - Swedish meatballs, gravy, sauce and french fries for 15-25 kuai. My wifey and I have been known to come here before JUST for the food. Add unlimited refills to soft drinks, and 1 kuai soft serves on the way out, and you're starting to wish they were in the restaurant business as well.

It's a madhouse Avoid the weekends, if you can. Still, Ikea has some of the best products out there for the price.
