    Contributor Description

Established in 1999, Fenxing is Beijing's first privately-run fencing club. Mr. Ning WU, founder and chief instructor of the Club, has over twelve years of experience in teaching and proselytizing the sports of fencing to a highly international clientele, and fences competitively in various domestic and international tournaments. The Club has enjoyed intensive media coverage and critical acclaim and the pupils of the Club have been competing in a variety of national, regional and international events.

With its new venue in Shunyi, located within walking distance to the International School of Beijing, to be opened in early April, the Club now offers introductory, developmental and advanced saber fencing classes to Beijing-based expatriate children, adolescent and young adults, aged 12 to 20, in a cozy, exclusive and family-friendly ambiance. The classes are one-on-one or in small teams (up to four pupils per class), conducted in English with basic fencing jargons in French. Club equipment use is free of charge. Pupils and other clients can also purchase armory items from the Club. Trips to major international tournaments held in China, such as the annual International Women's Saber Championship Grand Prix, can be arranged.
