Build speed and hand-eye coordination playing rounds of handball with this group that meets every Thursday. Whether laowai or local, young or old, anyone with two hands and a ball is welcome to join. A mix of skill levels ensures no beginner embarrassment. Over the summer (until August 15 when the BCIS opens again), the group meets at Chaoyang Park South Gate. It’s free for first-timers, and after that only the cost of sharing the court (RMB20). The group usually meets for dinner and drinks afterward.
This 'club' is pretty young but already VERY active ! They have trainings every week with at least 15-20 players each time, and regular games and tournaments with local teams ! Both experienced and beginners, young (yes, 2 players are under 15) or old(er), Chinese and laowais are involved in the 2 men's and women's team. If you want to give it a try, don't hesitate ! It's good fun, great exercise and a very easy way to meet a fun bunch of people from all over !
Wow, handball in Beijing is kicking off again! After an outflux of friends to the Shanghai team we are back and running every Thursday at BCIS (check out above).
We are open to all players, young and old- experienced or curious, men and women (we have lots of girls and will staff a men's and a women's team for tournaments).
Come if: you like to get/ stay fit; meet fantastic people; see lots of Beijing and China (and even South Korea or Japan via tournaments); enjoy a good night out; play the best sport in the world!!
