With hope that this Sad Story won’t happen anymore to anybody, in China like in any other part of the world…..
The work is done … Mister Moreaux made the business running again. He reached the target, he accomplish is «mission » … So, we don’t need him anymore! … Now is time to get rid of Mister Moreaux, to kick him off …
Mister Cui opened 4 years ago a French restaurant with apparently little knowledge and abilities in French cooking business and with a 100% Chinese team that also had no real experience in French cooking neither in western service. The place was empty of guest, closed at 8pm. At that time Mister Cui said that his business was losing 80000 rmb a month. It was unfortunately the reality. Mister Cui recruited Mister Moreaux to try to save his Business. At that time the restaurant Le Petit Gourmand had a very bad reputation in Beijing. Mister Moreaux is French nationality, 45 years old, graduated from a famous Hotel & Management school in Switzerland and majored in F&B and catering business. Mister Moreaux has more than 20 years of professional experiences. He run different business with success, he also runs his own business, a famous French restaurant in Paris for 10 years. Mister Moreaux accepted the very difficult challenge even if some of his friends tried to discourage him and told him “You have no chance, this place is already dead in the heart of too many people!!!”. After the first year of an everyday hard working, mister Moreaux somehow succeeded: City Weekend Awards as the “Best French restaurant” & “best café” in 2007, same Awards in 2008. The Beijinger Awards as the “Outstanding French restaurant” in 2008 and 2009 … Many good papers in many magazines, many good comment from people on the web. But today after almost 3 years of loyal, faithful and honest services Mister Cui dismiss Mister Moreaux, more exactly he “fired” him! Mister Cui, until now, didn’t give any good, logical, believable or acceptable reasons to explain his decision.
Today Mister Moreaux just wants to get back is money, and that’s nothing in front of is “new and unexpected situation of unemployed …” he will henceforth have to face. He doesn’t ask for any compensation or indemnity even if he could decently request for some and still, for good and indisputable reason.
Till now Mister Cui refuse to speak or meet Mister Moreaux. Mister Cui didn’t give Mister Moreaux’s full salaries, neither the money that Mister Moreaux put in the business throughout those last 2 years… Mister Moreaux went to the restaurant to try again to see Mister Cui. Mister Moreaux noticed that all his personal effect disappeared. Mister Moreaux brought back some CD of music that belongs to him. Mister Cui finally called Mister Moreaux and said that he will complain to the police for thievery…
Mister Cui, a few days later menaced, once again, Mister Moreaux to break his contract and will call some people they could easily expel him out of the country. He closed his talks by saying: “Take care my friend, don’t forget we are in China …” Mister Moreaux cannot stand any longer the “menace” and mainly the one he indirectly received. Mister Cui, used Mister Moreaux’s friend to threaten him. Mister Cui called one evening at 11pm a young 27 years old girl (actually Mister Moreaux’s flatmate) and told her: “I will make Axel expel out of China if he doesn’t “calm down….” Mister Moreaux’s flatmate feels today uncomfortable.
A few days after Mr. Moreaux was dismissed Mr. Cui put new signboard on the wall of Tong Li Studio: 5 new pictures of the logo of “Le Petit Gourmand” French Café-Bar-Restaurant. What a surprise, because the only motif Mr. Cui gave to Mr. Moreaux to dismiss him was: “I have no more time to take care about the restaurant, I will need to take care about my new company… I sold parts of the restaurant (40% for 800000 Rmb!?) to peoples they plane to make a Russian restaurant and they already have their own team”…. In the same time Mr. Cui were looking for a new manager and started negotiations with a young French guy working in a French restaurant in Beijing…….
