Cafe Konstanz Description

In addition to having a great bakery downstairs (South German Bakery), this cozy restaurant serves up delicious German meals for reasonable prices. The chicken schnitzel here is the best in town.

Now here's a place for breakfast! I've been here a few times now, and besides having quality bakery items (love me a chocolate croissant), their dine-in options were also solid. We split a breakfast of two eggs, sausages, potatoes, and a bread basket for a little under 80 rmb. The sausages were awesome, especially so when paired with the eggs or potatoes. Breakfast potatoes were a good combination of crispy and soft. The bread basket was substantial, with multiple kinds of bread, all of which were hearty and delicious.

This is definitely a place that I can get behind. If you need a hearty loaf of bread, or a quality German breakfast, check this place out.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday breakfast because I had total confidence that it would be the perfect start to a lovely day. We were not disappointed. After living in Germany for two years, I can say that the food (and bread especially!) felt quite authentic and reminded me of my days on the Rhein. We had one of the big breakfasts that came with a bread basket, eggs, fantastic butter and jams, and coffee. We ate it all up. The environment was warm and cozy and the service was great. When I ordered a soft-boiled egg and it came out a little over done, they kindly took it back and off my bill. Afterwards, we visited the bakery below and took some slices of cake home for later. All in all, a wonderful morning.

I went there this morning with thee girl friends for brunch. Cafe Konstanz has a reputation that is well worth it. At 12 in the afternoon it was packed with the vibrancy of the expat community in all the best possible ways. Above the vivacious chats we ordered their hearty German breakfasts of amazing over easy eggs that tasted like my mother land back home, and wonderful bread baskets. The brown and black breads taste like the earth, whole and healthy and rich. The assortment of butter, jams, honey, and marmalade were unbeatable, and it was only two late that I realized I had devoured the entire of contents of that basket.
This is a charming brunch and would do any German proud.
