Description

The most important of China’s mythical beasts, the dragon (Loong in Chinese) has come to symbolize royalty and opulence, thanks to its association with emperors and empresses of yesteryear. At the JW Marriott Hotel Beijing, the majesty of the fabled creature is recreated with a contemporary twist in the chic Loong Bar, overlooking the lobby on the second floor. The mystery of the dragon is revealed in teasers across the room: a hint of the agile creature floating through clouds in the design of the carpet; or a modern pressed silver wall hanging featuring undulating dragon-like motives. Floor to ceiling crystal tube chandeliers cast a fire-like glow over the scene, inviting guests to recline in plush sofas, inside or on the spacious patio, and unwind listening to cool jazz and lounge music courtesy of world class entertainers. Above the bar, a stunning gold crystal dragon lights appear to swim in a sea of glass - their dazzling image dancing across the walls, reflected on the glistening dragons-back mother of pearl bar top, as well as the seductive tinted mirrors on the ceiling. In addition to pink Champagne on ice, Loong features an extensive range of unique signature cocktails, including the Snafu Loong, served alight on a dragon shaped tray for a fiery experience.
