Recently re-opened Domus Restaurant & Lounge, located at 115 Nanchizi Road and therefore only yards away from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, has prescribed itself to domesticity in every aspect of its design, food and beverage offering and service in order to create a multi-dimensional and importantly very personal and tailored experience. Zeitgeist, a bespoke international hospitality management firm, previously responsible for the operational development of Beijing’s acclaimed Legation Quarter at 23 Qianmen and the management company behind the award-winning new luxury hotel The PuLi Hotel and Spa, Shanghai, has taken over the management of Domus Restaurant & Lounge with an entirely new food, beverage and service concept. The intimate 60-seater restaurant of Domus features a brand new menu of traditional and artisan French cooking, without the pretense and complications of conventional “Fine Dining” cuisine. In collaboration with classically-trained chef Dan Segall, formerly at the helm of Zuma, Hong Kong and M1NT Shanghai, Zeitgeist has returned to the roots of home-cooked French cuisine and has revived many classic and all-time favourite dishes that include a traditional Bouillabaisse, home-made charcuteries, steak frites, whole roasted chicken or moules frites. The Lounge of Domus represents a haven for the celebration of drinks culture and a new form of intelligent and mature nightlife, focusing on the quality of drinks and service and on an environment in which guests are heard and not herded. The menu of Domus Lounge features classic cocktails, a comprehensive selection of fine single malt whiskies and delicious snacks and dishes from the restaurant menu, handcrafted and delivered to a backdrop of beautifully arranged and domestic design furniture originals and subtle contemporary and ambient music. The Restaurant & Lounge feature a total of 4 individually decorated private rooms, ideally suited for private dining and entertainment for 4-12 guests The Restaurant at Domus is open from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm, Monday to Saturday, while The Lounge is open from 6.00 pm to late, Monday to Saturday. The Restaurant is slated to also open for lunch in the foreseeable future.
