Elton John in Guangzhou on December 6!

That's right, folks. We'd been feeling a bit forlorn, enviously eyeing the slate of live concert global superstars coming to neighboring Hong Kong this winter, Jennifer Lopez and Sting among them, and wondering why the only upcoming Broadway musical coming to Guangzhou ("Cats") was only going to be performed in Chinese.

But now we've just confirmed that the Rocket Man himself, Elton John, will be performing with his band on December 6 , 7:30pm in an outdoor concert at the Haixinsha stadium park - venue of the 2010 Asian Games - as the latest mainland China stop in his ongoing world tour.

Though he may be getting on (65 years and still going), Sir Elton is still a major star attraction. After Beijing and Shanghai, he is set to wow fans in Guangzhou with a two and a half hour show, performing his greatest hits from the past five decades he's been in the music industry.

Tickets to Elton John's Guangzhou concert range from RMB 180 to RMB 1,280. Get your tickets now by calling 2207 2111 or show up in person at the ticket booking office at Room 648, Garden Hotel East Tower, 368 Huanshi Dong Lu, Yuexiu District.
