guangzhou's answer to Beijing's Factory 798 - only less rooted in the cafe/nightclub scene, and more concerned with the art itself. Located in a high-rise industrial building, Park 19 is now undergoing a major expansion to a new area, with several floors of studio and performance space. The original Park 19 features a cafe/bookstore that's definitely worth checking out. Look for special performances soon to come from the new space.
