End of the (Gay) Year: Parties and Reflections

A wee note on the upcoming gay parties around Christmas and New Year's. [**The Box**](http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/shanghai/listings/nightlife/lgbt/has/the-box/) is hosting a three-day [**Christmas Under the Sea**](http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/shanghai/events/57539/) party, starting from Christmas Even up to Boxing Day. The cover is 120 RMB all you can drink and the pre-sale price is 100 RMB. Not as extravagant as Club D2, the Box is certainly making an effort for downtown gay-club goers by hiring muscled male dancers and PSing alluring posters. On New Year's Eve, **the Box** is hosting a [**Hot Flames New Year's Eve**](http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/shanghai/events/57609/) party. For some reason, they decided on New Year's Eve you don't do "all you can drink" while Christmas is for drinking. Cover: 70 RMB, 50 RMB pre-sale. [**Club D2**](http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/shanghai/listings/nightlife/lgbt/has/d2/) is certainly not missing out the year end's pink yuan opportunity. D2 has dance parties throughout Christmas and [**New Year's Eve**](http://www.fridae.com/agenda/3650) also. However, the end of the year might also be a time for reflections. What have I done this year, and what am I going to do with my life in the new year? Gay or straight, don't we all have to face these questions once in a while? Happy Christmas and New Year to all Shanghailanders!
