Found 158 has its first casualty, Sel Dining & Bar, which in retrospect, was perhaps too fancy for the clientele of “new Yongkang Lu.” Taking its place is a far better suited entry, a beer bar for Australian brewery Little Creatures.
Earlier this year, we heard rumors that Little Creatures would be opening a bar near Suzhou Creek. Following a number of pop-ups in Shanghai, mostly at Hop Project on Dagu Lu, the beer brand has now locked in a partnership with The Camel Group, and will open a “Brewer’s Lab” in the space of Sel. Three guesses who has a monopoly of Found 158.
Expect the full range of Little Creatures beers, a variety of seasonal beers, and some from their sister brewery White Rabbit. The highlight of the concept will be a “sensory station,” where patrons can help themselves and pour their own draft. They’ll even have a canning machine, where people can fill their own cans, design and print their custom labels. In addition, they’ll also be hosting beer education sessions.
Little Creatures’ Brewer’s Lab is set to open by Christmas, with an opening party planned for January. Here’s to another craft brewery—one thing Shanghai can’t seem to get enough of.
