Had enough of your cheapskate landlord refusing to fix that leaking pipe? Tired of battling mold issues? Or you hate your neighbor, who thinks it's perfectly fine to start hammering away at 5am on a Saturday? Well, City Weekend's housing section will help you solve all that. Here are some of the apartments that are currently available on our site. If you don't like the look of these, there are plenty more to choose from.
This one-bedroom is located in Sihe Garden (aka expat compound), on the corner of Xinzha and Yanping Lu, smack dab in the middle of two metro stations - Line 2 & 7 Jing'an Temple and Line 7 Changping Road. It's a great area to be in, clean, safe, and within walking distance to the Nanjing Xi Lu hub, where malls like Crystal Galleria and the Jing'an Kerry Centre are located. The apartment is on the second floor, lets in plenty of natural light, and is a steal at RMB4,500 (this includes the compound management fees too).
If there's two of you, mosey over to the Zhongshan Park area for this two-bedroom apartment, which is about six minutes walking distance from the metro station. What we love about this place is that the bathroom is newly renovated (there's a shower stall! None of that washing out of the basin bullshit), both rooms enjoy lots of sunlight, and there's a separate living and dining area. You'll be on the sixth floor, and unfortunately there's no elevator. But after making your way through the Dingxi Lu food street downstairs, you'll need the exercise anyway.
This three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is a mere seven-minutes walk to the Jiangsu Rd metro station. There's a balcony attached to the living room, good for sunning your laundry or to finally get started on that indoor garden you've always dreamt about. A glass sliding door separates the kitchen from the rest of the apartment, which is great. You can shut it when you're cooking to prevent the place from smelling like Sunday's night dinner for the rest of the week. It's also a great area of Shanghai to be living in, a short bike or bus ride away from the Jing'an area as well as the Xujiahui hub.
This stunning one-bedroom lanehouse is located on some very prime real estate, on the corner of Chongqing and Fuxing Zhong Lu, within walking distance to Xintiandi, and a short bike ride away to the bustling Huaihai Zhong Lu stretch. It comes equipped with an oven (really rare in Chinese apartments), a separate shower stall, high ceilings, and a loft-style bedroom nook. It's also going for a mere RMB8,500, which, for this size and in this area, is basically unheard of.
