Incoming: Imagine Dragons is Coming to Shanghai

The alt-rockers are coming to an arena near us

In one of the first concerts of the year, Grammy award winning Imagine Dragons will be kicking things off in a big way at Mercedes-Benz Arena on January 17.

Originally from Las Vegas Nevada US, the four piece rock band came to prominence after the release of their debut studio album, 2012’s Night Visions. Primarily a collection of alt-rock songs, the album also featured folk, hip-hop, and pop sounds. Debuting at number two on the US Billboard 200, it would also go on to achieve platinum selling status, as well as the distinction of being the fourth best selling album in the US in 2013.

This initial success was followed up by the 2015 sophomore, Smoke + Mirrors. Debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200, the album spawned three singles, “I Bet My Life,” “Gold,” and “Shots.” The album itself was nominated for the Canadian Juno Award for “International Album of the Year." After a year long hiatus the band was back at it again with 2017’s Evolve. Filled with electronic-tinged pop-rock songs, lead single “Believer” was used in advertisements for Nintendo and in the trailer of the Agatha Christie film, Murder on the Orient Express. Second single “Thunder” peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts, becoming the band’s fourth top ten hit.

Fans of feel-good rock should make sure not to miss the January 17 stop of their Evolve tour next month.
