Back for a second year in a row is Pushfest, Asia’s premiere and only film festival dedicated to skateboarding. For one day only, the skateboarding industry's most influential filmmakers will convene at photography space Central Studios to showcase their work through screenings, workshops, and discussions.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Patrik Wallner, a Hungarian native and media maker who specializes in travel and skateboarding films and photography. He will be presenting Visualtraveling, a ten-year retrospective exhibition on his travels to over 100 countries. Wallner has worked with the likes of Vice, Red Bull, and Adidas, among others.
Other festivities for the day include kid-friendly skateboard instructional workshops, and for the less adventurous child, an additional skateboard painting class will also be on offer courtesy of ICONX.
PUSH has also put together an exhibition of skateboards, highlighting designs from local Chinese brands. A mini ramp has also been erected, on which all interested attendees can try out their moves culminating in a best trick competition with prizes from various sponsors. Capping the day off will be a curated skateboarding film showcase. Food and drinks provided by local businesses Joe’s Pizza, The Noodle Bar, Kaiba, and ABSOLUT.
