Three Performances for November

It's a live theater extravaganza

Titanic: Ship of Dreams

Homegrown theater company Dreamweaver is gearing up for their most ambitious show yet, an immersive theater production on the water. Ship of Dreams: The Titanic Experience is a site-specific play staged entirely on a real live ship on the Huangpu River. Audience members, or “passengers,” first receive a personalized invitation in the mail, which includes an admission ticket, a Titanic passport and money to be used on the boat. Like on the real Titanic, guests are broken up into two sections: first class and third class, with a different adventure awaiting each. While minimal dialogue is used, a combination of physical theater, mime, song, and dance are incorporated to help unfold the story of familiar Titanic characters from the film, as well as real-life historical figures. Tickets are ¥680-5,000. Get your ticket aboard now

Where: Titanic Ship of Dreams, No. 8 Captain Sailer Wharf, 4298 Binjiang Da Dao (near Dongcheng Lu) 滨江大道4298号 (近东城路)

When: Through November 25

How Much: RMB680-5,000

The Producers at Shanghai Culture Square.

The Producers

Former “King of Broadway” Max Bialystock has just experience his latest flopped play. When his dopey accountant Leo Bloom finds a loophole showing that the two can make a financial killing if his next play actually flops, they team up, hatching a plan to create the worst Broadway play ever. Outfitted with the cities “worst” directors, actors and writing, “Springtime for Hitler” turns out to be a surprise hit, as the audience takes to the camp qualities of the show. Originally for the screen, this 1967 classic was first adapted for the stage in the early 2000s, to great fanfare. Get your tickets here

Where: Shanghai Culture Square, 597 Fuxing Zhong Lu (near Maoming Nan Lu) 复兴中路597号 (近茂名南路)

When: Through November 15

How Much: RMB220-1050
