KL for RMB2,020
Odds are you've never heard of AirAsia. But that'll change soon enough. They are a value airline based out of Malaysia and they were voted Airline of the Year in 2007 by the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation. In any event, the big news for Shanghailanders is that they are creating a hub at the Hangzhou airport with weekly, direct, round trip service to KL for RMB2,020 (taxes included, book now and fly at the end of Feb). So, is that good or ho-hum? It's good. Malaysia Airlines flies the same route same days out of Pudong for RMB3,745. Maybe the Huhang Maglev ain't such a bad idea after all. Anybody out there actually flown them? Hao bu hao?

Air Asia is definitely not a bad deal, especially if you're under 6ft. Eeek Hangzhou...
