Amateur to seasoned film makers from 90 cities around the globe are participating in the 48 Hour Film Festival competitions. Shanghai’s own will kick off this Friday, May 20th and last until Sunday evening.

48 Hour Film is a world-wide film making project that gives participants only two days to complete and submit their film. Participants get to premier their shorts on the big screen at Xinguang Film Art Center at the culmination of the contest on Sunday evening. The catch: each team of film makers is given a set of elements that must be included: an assigned genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue. Films must be between 4 to 7 minutes in length.

To participate, register here or at the links provided below. Entrants will be accepted on a first come first serve basis, while overflows will be put on a wait list.

Not an aspiring film maker or registration is full, but want to participate anyways? You can post a listing on 48 Hour Film’s website with your desired job/service. Participating teams will have access to the listings and may just call you up for help.
