We're all used to being pleasantly (or not) surprised every day in Shanghai. But today, yes, 08-08-08, as I was on my way back to the office with my current lunch addiction, Family Mart "triangle sushi" (don't judge, please. I had to turn to something after this) something caught my eye among the Olympic paraphernalia adorning Fuzhou Lu.

On the corner of Fuzhou and Fujian Lu sits an "awards" / stationery shop. As I was eyeing the many miniature national flags by the windowsill, what did I see but Olympic-colored City Weekend coasters for sale? Hm. How'd they get a hold of those?! That shall remain a mystery.

Moral of the story is, don't buy them. Of course. We know you're excited about the Games, and we know that you love CW, so join us as we cheer on the athletes in style. We'll even let you take home a set of those coveted coasters.
