Hello, CW editors, it is cool. really cool. I am novelist wang lili who is the first speaker in 2006 shanghai international literature Festival. Until today, many audience of mine can remember what I said in the presentation. I am interested in many presentations by many writers here in 2008 shanghai international literature festival. I am looking for hearing their voice and talking with them to find out if I can write them for Chinese media or If I can translate their books from English to Chinese for chinese publishers. This year's price is a little bit expensive comparing last years, and it is very complicated to get the tickets. So, I hope I can get the luck ticket. Regards, wang lili Independent writer

Reality check, Wang Lili: RMB 65, including a glass of wine, for an hour with Colin Thubron, Jancis Robinson, Lynn Pan? It's a bargain. Ticketing is actually less complicated than it was last year, unless you're a technophobe, with bios and session summaries right next to the "click" button to buy tickets, and it's all on the City Weekend site, www.mypiao.com and www.m-restaurantgroup.com - three different places! Technophobes can call mypiao to order at 400-620-6006 and buy same day tickets in person at M on the Bund (same day only).

Dear TMK: Thanks for your informations. But from the advertisement, It looks like I just can buy tickets from www.mypiao.com. and I went to this website, and find it very difficult to order the tickets. by the way, I got some tickets from M on the bund already. Regards, wang lili

But enough about logistics ... the Literary Festival has begun, and the first day was magnificent. So many different authors, so many different themes, ideas, voices - it was head-spinning, going from the artists and designers in Shanghai to space science, wine poetry and the inspiration for James Bond. The unifying theme - the unity in the diversity, if you will - is that there's nothing quite like a good story, and we all love a good storyteller.

PS Alonso - Kiran Desai was at the 2007 Literary Festival ... But the current Booker Prize winner is coming this year, too - Anne Enright, March 14.

wang lili's tears in Shanghai International Literature Festival
by wang lili
In winter 2005, I met M on the Bund boss in a friend's office. We met each other is an accident. As I should leave before she came according to the schedule. Our Friend introduced us to each other. She knew nothing about me and I knew nothing about her. She said she wanted to read my books. I said, I do not have English version copy book, but I have English version summaries and some English version chapters, If I can have your email address, I will email you. She tried to find her name card, but she failed. then she said she wrote her email address to me. Our friend said to her, I will forward your email address to wang lili. After I got her email address from our friend email, I emailed her my books summaries and some chapters. she loves my books and she invited me to attend 2006 shanghai International Literature Festival as a speaker. I do not know what Shanghai International Literature Festival is about. But I said yes. Honestly, besides me, all the 2006 shanghai International Literature Festival authors have English version publication at least, some of them have many language publication copies. Comparing I am just like a hen in a cow group, But media love me home and abroad most. Chinese version media, from national media to country side media, from print media to web media, even China Central Government web, released the news on wanglili attending 2006 shanghai international literature festival. So does English version Media.
In fact, I should feel ashamed as I could not control myself while presentation. I burst my tears out when I read some piece of my book. Before so many audience, I, ON EARTH, cried loudly... Oh, My God. It is my first time, I do believe it will be the last time.
But from now on, it seems good to cry when presentation as many expat talk about wang lili's tears in 2006 shanghai international literature festival. You know people love scandals. I happened to make a scandal of myself to let more people memorize me and my book.
This year, I am not an author to 2008 shanghai international literature festival. I applied, as I wanted to give a presentation on sex traders and novelist wang lili, but I failed. Even though, English version media still come to me to ask me to talk about Shanghai International Literature Festival. It seems no Chinese version media released news on 2008 shanghai international literature festival. I do not know why.
I think I should feel lucky as I was refused by 2007 shanghai international literature Festival and 2008 shanghai international literature Festival as I should leave wang lili's tears forever in shanghai international literature festival.

oh, I want to gooo!!
Kiran Desai is hot.
