Break out your green body paint and wigs because it's St. Patrick's Day this Thursday. Grab your drinking partner and check out one of the many Paddy's Day parties around town. If booze doesn't touch your lips, that's ok. There are plenty of other ways to celebrate Ireland's most celebrated day. Check them out below.

Great Drink Deals

Head to The BREW at the Kerry Hotel, Shanghai's newest micro-brewery. Get festive with their 2-for-1 offer on the Skinny Green - one of The BREW's craft beers. Order a pint of their Dugite Vanilla Stout and receive a complimentary plate of bangers and mash. Malone's is going all out and hosting St. Patricks Week. Yes that means it's on right now. Guinness, Kilkenny and double Baileys are all flying out the door for RMB50. They also have a very special Irish Menu which includes sow braised leg of lamb with all the trimmings. The extended celebrations will last until Sunday. Ladies if beer and Irish whisky isn't your thing, take your friends to The Bulldog for their St. Patrick's Day Party. They are doing bottles of Moet & Chandon Champagne for just RMB499. In case you didn’t know, that is a really good deal.

The All-You-Can-Drink Deals

It's St. Patrick's Day, cue the open bars. There are plenty of places doing the all-you-can-drink thing around town. Check out MGM Club, Mural and The OZ on Thursday. We suggest that you line your stomach with carbs and leave a liter of water by your bedside table before you head out into the night. City Weekend is always looking out for you.

Get Legless and Crawl

Shanghai's favorite pub crawl is kicking off it's St. Paddy's Crawl at O'Malley's Irish Pub (very fitting). Start the night with all-you-can-drink beer and cocktails for one hour. There will be free welcome shots at every bar, party favors and plenty of shenanigans. Whether you're from Cork or Sydney, London, or Chicago get your green on and come celebrate your alcohol problem with a rowdy crew.

Grab Some Irish Grub

Avalon is putting on a tasty feast for all the Paddy's Day pundits. For RMB150 per person, you can share a family style dinner. What's on the menu? How about Irish cheddar and red ale fondue with soda bread and Irish sausages; caramelized onion and fennel tarts; corned beef with Jameson glaze, baked cabbage with bacon; smoked apple mashed potato pancakes; chocolate mint Shamrock cupcakes and Bailey Irish coffee truffles. Mm hao chi!

A Little More Refined

If boozing isn't your thing, you can still get into the spirit of St. Patrick's Day in other ways. Head to the Glamour Bar and celebrate with Guinness and Cork poets Bernard O’Donoghue and Martina Evans. Or catch Cónal Creedon's The Cure. Penned by renowned Irish playwright Cónal Creedon, this one-man play is set during the height of the Celtic Tiger economic boom in Ireland and tells the story of a man who has emotionally lost his way. You’ll be thanking us when you wake up hangover-free the next morning.
