Paris Hilton's Daily Itinerary or just 'Another English Magazine Blog'
The first posting in the CW Blog Shanghai had to begin with something about Paris Hilton. That or some other shallow list that could reveal our magnificent ability to catalog and rank acts of perversion, weird things on Google Earth or "Things that Chinese people do that Westerners don't like" (that blog is forthcoming in Shanghai).
Here goes: 4 Reasons We Made This Blog
- This ain't no one horse town. We'll be posting daily on the sad and trivial to the dramatic and profound on the CW Blog, taking cues from gossip and news blogs around the world. Subscribe to the RSS feed, to beef up your procrastination regiment.
- CW magazine prefers to cover upcoming or ongoing events, rather than review stuff that's already over. Now we can labor on about last night and so on.
-
We also like to berate poor Shanghai, as much as we love her. Overstuffed subways, the pompous club scene, the lack of a good local live music scene, the traffic and more come to mind.
- Rather than just harp on the mundane, we do plan to do more with the blog. Stay tune for columns on family life and our favorite The Beat - Shanghai Nightlife (there's talk of vidcasting somewhere). So stay tuned for columns on family life and more.
For those that may ask, "Why didn't you launch a forum like Smart Shanghai"? We can only say that for now, we prefer some method to the madness. Forums tend to fly off in a million directions, with someone eventually someone else a Nazi. The idea behind the "Blog Forum" is for CW to share news, thoughts and advice on SH and invite users to discuss i.e. comment like crazy on each topic. It's the discussion we're after, not the spam or wanderings.
Oh, where is Paris Hilton? First a word from Sarah Silverman. It's a blog. You have to wade through shallow waters in order to get through to higher ground.

This one is pretty painful to watch as well: Paris Hilton on Letterman
