Every week we round up some of the more obscure news articles circulating Chinese media. This week we're looking at the four-year-old who was forced to run near-naked in the snow, more restaurant scandals, and the disturbing pictures of a Band-Aid found inside some frozen tangyuan. Check it out below.

A case of bad parenting?
Early morning on New Year's Eve, a four-year-old child from Nanjing was forced to run near-naked through the snow in New York as a part of some special discipline training designed by his Dad. The video on Youku drew a lot of attention from netizens and within a few days received over 260,000 hits. It lead to a heated discussion on parenting in China; many netizens consider this extreme education method ridiculous, while some support this practice as they think it’s good for the child’s future. According to a report on Maopu, the child named He Yide was born prematurely and Doctors advised his parents that he was likely to develop dementia. To prevent this from happening, his parents started tough physical training. When he was just two-years-old he was trained to do all kinds of exercise like swimming, biking and wushu. According to the report, his parents make him walk or run three miles everyday. Remember the “Tiger Mom”? Say hello the “Eagle Dad”. His father Mr. He was quoted in saying: “He is very healthy now and has reached an IQ of 218 points, equaling to a seven-year-old. Last year there was a tiger mom, I want to be an eagle dad”. Yikes!

Another restaurant scam close to home
Following the Sanya restaurant scandal, two restaurants in Zhu Jia Jiao were also shut down for overcharging foreigners. Two big restaurants in the famous water town were called out by tourists for having two different menus; one in Chinese and one in English which had prices up to three times the amount for the same dishes. Both are currently under investigation by Qingpu government, but according to the owners of the restaurant these practices are common in most restaurants in the area.

Band-Aid filled tangyuan?
A Weibo user posted a very disturbing picture of her dinner this week. User Li Xiaoya found a Band-Aid in her frozen tangyuan on Feb. 5, the day before Chinese Lantern Festival. Soon after she published photos of the sesame-soaked Band-Aid, she received a lot of comments from other users leading to another heated discussion on Chinese food safety. A Weibo user “honeybebee” joked: “If you can get used to eating any food in China, you’ll be resistant to any disease.” The producer Zhengzhou Sinian Food Company, has promised to give consumers some answers about the unhygienic mix-up as soon as possible.
