Valentine's Day is just around the corner and if you're without a "plus one" this year, don't sweat it: City Weekend has your back. On Feb. 14 we'll be teaming up with the FC Club and throwing a Valentine's Day Singles Party for all of our sexy and single (or attached and still looking) readers. We're taking over the Yue Bar at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Luwan for the night and the bar is so brand spanking new that it's not even open to the public yet.
So if you're single, listen up—we're going all out for this one. There will be loads of food and drinks, but the true highlight of the night will be our saucy speed dating session. The whole night will broken down into three parts, check out all of the nitty gritty details below.
Buffet Dinner | 6:30pm-8pm
Head to the bar around 6:30pm for a scrumptious dinner and stake out the room for potentials. The Marriott are masters of the buffet so you can expect a huge spread. Check out the full menu in the photo gallery above.
Speed Dating Session | 7pm-8pm
Swallow your fears and take part in our speed dating session. It will be the perfect way for people to get to know each other. To join you must bring a friend (or colleague, relative, etc.) of the opposite gender. If you're a little reluctant, think of it this way: at least you'll be able to say "I've gone on 12 dates so far this year," even though none of them lasted longer than five minutes. For all the ladies (and gentlemen) if you didn't have time to get groomed before coming, we will have Franck Provost there to give you a fresh do'.
The After Party | 8pm-11pm
The fun and flirting doesn't stop there. After dinner and the speed dating session you'll get to mingle with all the other singles. We'll be putting on some racy games and helping hook people up with some ice breakers. Hot Salsa Club will also be bringing the heat with some spicy performances. We'll also be giving out plenty of prizes throughout the night.
You can choose to take part in just one or all of the sessions; it's up to you. There will be an early bird discount for everyone who RSVPs before Monday Feb. 13. You can do that right over here.
And hey, if things go well, you might end up taking a room for the night. Winky face.

Groovy. I suggest anyone entering the lucky draw use a biz card with a disposable email address, or you'll be getting spammed until 2015.
Actually, I was wondering how these people got my email. "FC Club Shanghai: WIN a Chance to Sit on Wen Jiabao's Knee and Play the Harmonica!" This buffet sounds...cheap.
First of all, we would like to clarify that FC Club and City Weekend never shared databases!!! If you have any qualms as to whether the FC Club "unsubscribe" feature works, we will help you test it. We are 100% sure it works perfectly. People can "unsubscribe" anytime. If you think that are receiving our event newsletters by mistake, we will gladly find the glitch and fix it so that you will no longer receive our invitations in the future. People receive FC Club event newsletters because he/she registered for an FC Club event or one of his/her friends helped him/her to registered FC Club event, many also sign up for FC Club membership on the website. If anyone who has any questions about FC Club, FC Club events or newsletters you are welcome to send us an email at info@fcclub.com anytime and we will answer your inquiries. Though we are unable to satisfy everyone currently, we will work hard and try our best to make our events successful and people are happy to make new contacts and have some fun. Thank you!
You may have fixed it now, but I got on your database without subscribing (which means you bought or harvested it) and it took a very long time to get unsubscribed (though the last one was about a year ago, you spammed me from 2008 to 2011) So no, I'm not signing up to 'test' your system. You might claim to be reformed spammers, but until I've seen much more evidence to the contrary you're still spammers to me
I also would like to mow exactly HOW these people got my email address. Perhaps you would be kind enough to tell us from whom you purchase your databases so we can avoid giving them our addresses in future?

FC Club are some of the worst spammers in town - whatever you do, don't give them your email. They got mine somehow several years ago, repeatedly refused to take me off their spam lists, and when I finally got it removed (I think they actually installed an auto-unsubscribe) it magically kept reappearing in their database (and resulting in me getting FCC spam) about every six months. Off topic, but VERY relevant. I'm disappointed that CW is partnering (and we must assume data-sharing) with these inveterate spammers.
